I did manage to figure out the shoulder parts and how they should rig, but I haven't done a bunch of poses with him in his outfit yet, so I'm not 100% on the weight paint, but so far I haven't had any clipping issues so I call it a success.
I feel like it would go well on top of something, rather than letting everything hang out like that. Rocket may have a thong, but at least his chest is protected.
I have now added another layer of material. The gold, hexagonal pattern compliments the gold of the hammer, and looks good with the red and black. It probably deforms like absolute shit, though. Such is the joy of weight painting clothes
