The Discord Server

I wanted to see if it would start up another area for people to talk and generate conversation but it never really got to that point, and whenever I try to engage with people there, no one tends to answer. At this point it's just another place to post stuff, which has restrictions other places don't, so it's really just more of a headache than anything. Especially with the constant bot spams from it being a public server. I'm not opposed to creating another in the future if you guys do like having it to view stuff, but it would probably be a private server for only supporters if that would be the case. Any thoughts or oppositions?

I didn't even know there was a twitter bot, I've just been posting stuff myself. I'll have to look into that. I've never been one to interact a lot either, and I imagine most are like you as well so I totally get it. Discord is definitely better than Patreon for general use that's for sure.

I am more of a supporter that does not interact with the creators. I always have every discord server on mute. I only support because I like donating to artists who create this kind of content and I want them to continue, even if I am not actively consuming the content. I personally like discord more than the Patreon app. Ultimately it’s up to you.

2024-05-14 15:14:19 +0000 UTCI never really advertised it outside of when I first created it I believe. I've always had the invite available on my twitter though. Even with just that though, I think it has 1000+ people in it. I really like the idea too, and thinking about it I think it just makes sense that if I'm going to have it, it should be private. It would allow for a lot more laid back area as well, with less rules and policing hopefully.

Not sure if you advertise it publicly and perhaps could then have roles where patreon members can only access? idk, I agree that if it's only you that active, what's the point... but at the same time, I'm selfish in that I enjoy having a place dedicated to your art with you being engaged with your members. Patreon is trying these 'communities' and imho, it's just a mess of a group chat tbh lol.

2024-05-13 14:48:06 +0000 UTCThanks for the input, I believe the notifications should be on your end. I know you can mute/adjust the server notifications, but you can also do that for each individual channel. They seem to be working for me at least.

2024-05-13 14:32:23 +0000 UTCI'm not on Twitter so I also was missing a lot of announcements and releases. The discord seemed to be better about those! I agree with Shadow that a private one would be best!
