No but now I must!

Aaron Lee

No, but if the Bev had them I'd be forced to taste test!

I rented a massive floor of a large building in Los Angeles for $1250/month in 1998. Like, the ludicrous size one sees depicted in movies of that time. Big enough to ride a bicycle around in.

Are they ordered by play or by preference?

Have you ever tried Chuckles's equally obscure cousin, Fruit Gems? Different shapes, little squishier, but basically the same concept.

Also, I can't hear that title without thinking of THE WABBIT WHO CAME TO SUPPER.

Mark Ibarra

Sorry you didn't like Chuckles. They're an acquired taste, like Dots or Sugar Babies. Cavities in a box from a bygone era.

Marvelous episode. Here is my Letterboxd list for this month's titles -- https://letterboxd.com/damionmatthews/list/video-archives-cinema-club-december-2024/

A little off track here but regarding YOU’VE GOT MAIL - there’s a scene where the part time book store employee sighs about how she will have to move to Brooklyn after Fox Books puts The Shop Around the Corner out of business which gets Steve Zahn’s character to bring up “The joy of rent control - 6 bedrooms, $450 a month!” This was only 1998 folks. Let that sink in!

The Lake Show

Fans of HAPPY FEET should love THE MAN WHO CAME TO DINNER!

Not gonna lie… I’ve been a comedy writer for a couple decades, but hearing that Quentin and Roger were “absolutely tickled” by my silly Cinema Club review is a career highlight. Followed closely by Gala being grossed out by my Chuckles recommendation! Re: CAPTIVE WOMEN - my Barbara Stanwyck-obsessed daughter and I watched LADIES THEY TALK ABOUT (1933) this year, and I was surprised how all the “Women in Prison” conventions were present (right down to the overt queer characters). Would make a great Cinema Club screening!

Aaron Lee

Nice to hear Aaron’s shoutout! #teamchuckles

SUPER! 👍😊
