Added 2024-12-04 08:00:11 +0000 UTCHey guys! Happy Wednesday!
I was excited to get through what I thought was the rest of the mail from Season One ... only to find out that we had a ton more that I wasn't aware of! Well, good news is, all of the mail from Season One has been added to my mailbag ... along with any new letters, postcards, and gifts for the guys that you have sent to our PO Box.
Just in case you want to send something, here's the address.

And remember my tips about how to phrase your questions so they have the best chance of getting on air! In the future, I hope we get to do a Patreon Q&A to feature some of your virtual questions.
Now, on to the boxes ... or rather, box of the day. My copies of The Substitute & The Promise were the same as Quentin's, but I have some pictures of Pancho Villa to share! I read the back of the box on the episode, but still think it's fun to see pictures.

When you guys are picking VHS boxes, what do you typically look for? Are you interested in pristine covers? Boxes that have history? Cool art? A certain brand? Let me know down below!
Also, PS! Today is my 29th trip around the sun, and because of that I'm offering the code GALA29 to our loyal listeners. When used on Patreon, the code will give you 29% off your first month of the "Season Pass" tier -- so feel free to share that code with friends or fellow listeners. You can also use it in our merch store on a few of my favorite items for 29% off -- the season 2 hat in camo or light blue, the notes on cinema Gala edition, or the horror section poster.
See you guys next week with our next 3 movies. Yes, the clues are out -- but I made an oops and accidentally spilled the beans ... oh well! ;-)
Comments
I do prefer a box with a nice artwork and in good shape. I do not mind early (80s) stickers from the original video store, those I keep for the history of the tape. But if it got newer or really ugly stickers I try to peel them off.

2024-12-08 09:13:09 +0000 UTCNo, the merch store is currently USA only. If/when we eventually get international shipping up, any archived merchandise will be made available for a limited time (example: season one hats). Our PO Box accepts mail from all over, and when we do giveaways they are typically international.

2024-12-04 19:41:29 +0000 UTCI've been gifted a few UK boxes over the years. They definitely aren't my favorite because they're all clamshells so I hide them in my closet lol!

2024-12-04 16:09:10 +0000 UTCI’m in the UK where the standard box for VHS was the horrible clear plastic with paper insert. I love the cardboard slip covers you have in the US. I have bought a bunch on eBay (mostly VA titles) but costs a lot in shipping.
