Nice to see the embrace of God's Own Format, the futuristic miracle that is DEE VEE DEE. 😬😉

Had taped those Marx brothers films from TV in the early 90s (grade 6) to watch the Groucho songs on repeat.. was wondering where to find them.. “Via no chicken?”🍗

Thanks for introducing me to "Hollywood Story!" I love the cluster of relationships all simmering, the JM cameo, and that it costars one of the best born-in-Iowa actors: Julie Adams.

Yes, I think you’re right. And it fits!

That's one of my favorite scenes in all of cinema. There's even a moment where Robert Warwick asks him "who's talking about taking you off salary" where he seems to muff the line, but as it feels like a natural moment of confusion, and probably since it came so close to the end of the scene, Sturges left it in there.

Some excellent films being programmed. Good call on Sullivan’s Travels. The opening four minute scene with ten pages of dialogue was done in one continuous take and was scheduled for two days of filming. They got in one day by 11:00 AM. ‘It’ll put Shakespeare back with the shipping news.’ ‘But with a little sex in it.’ ‘It’s better than nothing in this cockeyed caravan.’
