201.5 - More on Narrow Margin

On today's Aftershow, we’ve got even more insights from the first episode of Season 2. Quentin, Roger, and Gala discuss their further thoughts on the films covered, a bit more about Sybil Danning's Adventure Video, and open a very special gift relating to a movie the guys watched last season. Plus, something that got left on the cutting room floor of Season 1 that was just too good not to share...
Same. Love that. For film experts Q & R don't come across as snobs.

Love the positive vibes Quentin spreads . I would never want them to talk about movies they don’t want too, but hearing them defend the direct to VOD market of newer Bruce movies was insightful.

Hey there! David Knell here. I was in Pig. I played Chef Finway in that restaurant scene with Nicolas Cage. I did a full on spit take when I heard Quentin say he'd seen and really dug Pig. I'm really proud of the film, and of Michael Sarnoski (the writer/ director). Check out, if you haven't, "A Quiet Place: Day One", the first movie he did after Pig. He did a similar thing there, managing to subvert the whole "day one" scifi genre as well. It's really beautiful. Vio con Dios. And here's that scene from Pig, if you're interested. https://youtu.be/s3CDAs2hkQc?si=dShYps8sZQd3j7dd

Absolutely savored this smorgasbord of extra content from the main show—totally here for the Willis/Cage low-budget streamer gems! Quentin’s VHS shrine to season one sounds like a Blockbuster aisle possessed by pure devotion.
I appreciate this podcast so much, and it's a blast enjoying it on Patreon with the chat and all the bonus stuff. Love it!

The next Video Vault is American Commandos. Actually a pretty decent action film. Suarez shoots action well. Mitchum and Law have a low key charm to them. The first part is a revenge thriller, the second part more of a military actioner. The narrative is very confusing at times. I don’t know that we needed quite so many rape scenes lol.

I loved hearing the discussion on Grady Hendrix. I knew QT would love the cover of My Best Friends Exorcism when I read it 😊

No mistake in the clue, but this clue is pretty tough. The movie in question is directed by one of the 3 from episode 12 and shares its title with a movie directed by one of the directors of episode 11. You're getting close though. head on over to the community chat to figure it out!

Was there a mistake in the first part of the third clue? Because a TV movie with a shared title from Episode 11 points to the 1992 HBO movie Hostages by David Wheatley. But I don't see any film from a director featured on Episode 12 with a title that matches Episode 11.
