Weekly report 2025 June 4/4

Image Boards for New Characters

This week, as a bit of a break, I created image boards for new characters.
The intention behind these is to release them alongside the upcoming public demo, in order to build excitement for future development. After all, there are only two characters in the game so far.
In other words, we’re entering a phase where preparations for public release are beginning.

Lucifer has a skill that transforms the opponent.
That said, it's similar to Midnight Bliss — the transformed character can’t be controlled and reverts back to normal shortly afterward. I'd like to implement rare transformations with low probability as well.

Beelzebub, much like Nero Chaos from Melty Blood, has extremely long-range normals. I also plan to give her the ability to float in midair, making her a very powerful character.
I drew Beelzebub’s image board, but that doesn’t mean she’s one of the next three characters to be developed. I simply wanted to draw her. The purpose of the image boards is to raise anticipation, not to announce future content.

The next new characters planned are Pandemonica, Lucifer, and Helltaker. I plan to continue working on their image boards next week. I was originally planning to tweak some action mechanics as well, but I came down with a cold and couldn't get to it.

Bonus

For supporters at the Inferno tier and above, I’ll be posting large-size versions of the character sprites used in this week's image boards.

Side Note: I Caught a Cold

I went on a short three-day trip last weekend, but I started feeling unwell after coming back.
It’s already as hot as summer here in Japan, so I started using the air conditioner. I left it on while I slept, and the next morning my throat was extremely sore, my nose wouldn’t stop running, and I developed a fever. I ended up writhing in bed all day.
Even my sense of taste was off, so I got worried it might be COVID and went to the hospital the next day. I told them over the phone that it might be COVID, so they didn’t let me into the building — I had to get tested and wait outside. I'm sick, you know!
In the end, it wasn't COVID — just a plain old cold from staying too long in an air-conditioned room.
