Hello everyone!
Thank you as always for your support.
Let's take a look at this week's progress!
I couldn't get anything done at all due to a lot of external work!! Sorry!!
I selected one finalist from the candidates. Surprisingly, it turned out to be one of our supporters!
I immediately asked them to record the lines, incorporated the audio into the game, and tested it.
When I listened to the voice alone, I thought it was excellent, but once I placed it in the game, it didn’t quite fit.
Initially, I thought a deep, bass-heavy demonic voice would be ideal for the round start call, but it turns out it needs a more energetic tone to create excitement.
On the other hand, for character selection, that kind of voice fits perfectly.
Since sound isn't my area of expertise, I felt a lot of pressure delegating the work, and I became quite confused about how to handle it.
Maybe a higher-pitched voice would work better?
Am I making the voice actor do something they’re not good at?
If I ask for a redo, how should I request it next time?
After much deliberation, I lost confidence in my own judgment and decided to ask the other two finalists as well.
Each of them has a great but distinct voice, and I wanted to explore the possibilities.
So, I decided to use all three narrators and allow players to switch between them in the game settings.
There are precedents for this in other fighting games, so why not!
When I reached out again, all of them gladly accepted.
Now, I just need to arrange another recording session, but that’s on hold for now due to the next topic.
Around the time I started recruiting narrators, one of our supporters offered to help with audio design.
He’s a professional in the field, and after listening to his work, I could tell he has incredible expressive and technical skills.
If he officially joins the project, the sound effects and BGM will likely be completely revamped.
Since I’ve been struggling so much with the narrator voice, I also have high hopes for his input in that area.
However, we’re still in discussions, and so far, our visions seem to be quite different.
Last week, I forgot to put out the collection box for cans and PET bottles during my neighborhood’s garbage duty, so as a penalty, I have to do it again for another week.
It’s an easy task, but I’m overwhelmed by the anxiety that I may have lost my neighbors’ trust.
Also, I had to prepare my garage for the upcoming annual city festival.
I usually work alone in a quiet and methodical manner, but for some reason, this week involved a lot of external interactions, which was exhausting.
I am a shut-in piece of trash.

That's all for this week. Thanks to everyone's support, we can continue development! Much appreciation.
Have a great weekend!
