Weekly report

Hello everyone!
Let's take a look at the progress from this week and last week!

Comic Work:

The work was already completed as of last week, but we made the announcement this week. This time, we have a two-part story, slightly shorter than usual.

Please take a look below!

Round Start Graphics:

We created graphics for the round start that reflect Helltaker's atmosphere, incorporating elements of fear, coolness, and beauty.

Here's the rough version, (oh I find spell miss here)

and here's the final product.

I might shorten the animation duration later.

Throw Tech:

I've implemented the "throw tech." A throw tech is an action where, when the opponent's normal throw attack hits, the player on the receiving end inputs the normal throw command during the grace period to avoid being thrown. With this feature, Judo won't work in Hellversus!

Same time Hit:

I've clarified the handling of situations where both players' attacks hit simultaneously. When both attacks are at the same level, they cancel each other out, and in cases where the levels differ, the higher-level attack will dominate. Throws, on the other hand, will cancel each other out, but they won't beat strikes.

Painter Tool Enhancement:

In a previous bug report channel, a color mismatch issue was pointed out with character sprites. To address this matter, we've improved the color-check tool we created for painters. The previous tool could only check one sprite at a time and required renaming sprites, making it somewhat inconvenient.

The new tool can be used by simply placing it in the folder without renaming, and it allows you to check multiple sprites simultaneously. We've already entrusted painters with color-check tasks using this tool.

Next week plan:

Other topic: Decreased Interest in the Project:

Although we received the usual amount of feedback for this comic, it didn't translate into acquiring more supporters.😥

The exact cause isn't clear, but it might be because a long time has passed since the project began, and people's interest has waned.

As an idea to secure development funding, I'm considering starting a Patreon for Helltaker Comics. However, starting this would mean I have to update comics monthly, potentially affecting progress on Hellversus. If you have any opinions on this, please let us know!

It's a challenging situation, but I'm determined to hold on until the completion of the alpha version.

That's all today.

Have a nice day!

I'm something of a comic artist myself. Want some help on that?
