Extraordinary Attorney Woo EP.6 | REACTION

Comments

Please react to (FLOWER OF EVIL). I'm sure you will love the show from the first few minute. BTW I love your guys reaction

This episode is so sad but most of the time I was so mad about how she was sabotaging her own case. I see how the judge and jury saw her as earnest and honest because of the way she talked in court and that helped her case but she was not working with the lawyers at all and that irked me so much. Little insight from someone that defected/was smuggled out of a country. Although I am not a north korean defector, there are a lot of eritreans that have to use some of the same methods of leaving the country as north koreans do. Yes, it is not exactly the same because there is differnces in the country however, the theory is the same. If you live in a country where a lot of people use human smugggling as a means of leaving, you know a lot of the "smuggling culture" (even tho people do not talk about it in public that much because there are government spies everywhere, people still talk about it a lot)-BTW human smuggling is not the same as trafficking- So the "mom" was probably like a coyote (a smuggler), and when we went through the same thing, everybody on that car knew that the money we originally paid was not going to be enough. The way they work is you agree on a price and they take you out, but while you are in the middle of nowhere they ask you for more money or you get left behind to get eaten by animals. It is not ethical (duh) but it is the way that it works and everyone always knows you have to cough up more money. All this is to say that the money that the "mom" borrowed was probably not "borrowed" because why does she think that the mom would ever give it back. There are a lot of moments you get taken advantage off when you are in situations like this, but there is no way she did not know about this type of culture when she first left. So it just makes me pissed that she was actually doing all that to get the money back and then when the lawyers find different ways to help her get back to her daughter, she just sabotages it. This was not the time for her to act rightous (in my opnion). Then again I can not assume that smuggling culture is the same in every country and ...this is a kdrama its not that deep. But it just irked me a lot lol. Sorry for the long ass post tho.

I'm also no expert when it comes to law, especially not South Korean law. I understood it like this: The jury decides whether they find the defendant guilty or not guilty and sort of recommend a sentence. The judge prepares for both outcomes while the jury is discussing. Then he gives his sentencing if the jury found the defendent guilty. He can't however overrule the general verdict of the jury, which is guilty or not guilty. Hope this helped and isn't completely wrong or confusing.

Same...that was my question. Bc in the episode the jury suggested 4 years in prison. The judge overruled it and gave probation. How?

How are you guys? Hope everything is good and you’re safe. —————— I honestly love Jung Myeongseok. I had watched Kang Ki Young in many dramas before but this is my favourite role of his. Also just before watching this drama I had seen this 12 Ep Treasure Hunt reality show called Village Survival The Eight which he’s part of too. I totally loved Kang Ki Young there. He’s so funny haha. So watching this after that show made me like him even more here. Also the character Jung Myeongseok is written so amazingly! Love it. —————— I like how at first they kinda make us judge the Judge. Like with him asking all about the family surname and stuff. But later on it shows how he’s a veteran and just, by the judge himself picking up that she confessed, which they missed and also kinda announcing that part aimed at them. Amazing. Also this judge dude played the role of Business Proposal 2nd female lead’s father 🤭I remember his face cuz he was in While You Were Sleeping too which is one of my favourite dramas. You’d probably not remember him from Business Proposal cuz he was in like 3-4 scenes that’s all.

Priyanka Banerjee

Okay so what if the jury was like not guilty but then the judge had found it to be guilty then it’d still be guilty? Sorry I also don’t know much about law but seeing this question even I got curious like how does it work?

Priyanka Banerjee

Ah, sorry 😅 The jury gives the verdict guilty/not guilty. And the judge determines the sentencing. That’s what I got at least.

Stephanie

That's exactly what I said 😂. So back to my question...what is jury there for then 🤷‍♀️?

Vanessa Squintu

I don’t know Korean law either. But I think the jury suggests a sentence, which they deem appropriate. But since the judge is more equipped in law, he has the final say. He probably prepared his verdict while the jury was discussing theirs.

I hope you guys are safe and there wasn’t too much damage because of the hurricane. My family suffered through the flooding in Germany last year and it was so hard and taxing mentally to rebuild what was damaged. And we were lucky to not be hit too hard. I still get nervous when it rains for too long or too heavy. ————————————————————— I LOVED twenty five twenty one! Hope to rewatch it with you guys one day. ————————————————————— I get that the landlady could evict the couple, but it’s not like that would help Lee Sun-yeongs situation. They would just move and she would continue to get beaten. I don’t get why the police couldn’t do anything if they have seen the husbands violent behaviour over the course of over five years. Even if the wife doesn’t want to press charges, it should be clear that she was beaten and that the husband poses a threat to her. ————————————————————— I don’t think the future of a big client should be put above the future of a single mom, who has had it hard enough already, just because the doctors association would mean more money. Hanbada is doing well enough, they shouldn’t want to represent clients with such backwards viewpoints. ————————————————————— You guys don’t really know anything about Young Woos mom yet. Only that her dad tells people that he is a widower. At least that’s what he told the landlord in the first episode. ————————————————————— The lady in the last clip is Tae Sumi, the CEO of Taesan, the other law firm. You have seen her already.

Stephanie

Hey guys... I promised to comment but I was out of town last week. We saw Ed Sheeran in concert. He was amazing. But here I am now. I love that drama so much. We are getting a few darker episodes now. That's all I will say bc I don't want to spoil anything. There is one thing I don't understand tho...I mean, I already know that the jury in South Korea doesn't have the final say. But the judge is reading their verdict for the first time, when he opens that envelope in the courtroom, right? And he made his verdict already. So, he reads it out loud and overruled it completely. What's the point of the jury then? Or am I just too stupid to get behind it? I love that you are enjoying it so much. It is kinda lighthearted with a lot of comic relief in between. Thanks guys for reacting to it. I am glad that you are okay. Love you guys 💜 💜
