Demon of Lust in the Land of Water 24

Demon of Lust in the Land of Water
Chapter 24

-VB-

Dressed in a purple kimono with pink flowers, Anko looked beautiful with the backdrop of the full moon behind her.

“My, my, my,” Anko hummed with a tremble in her voice that set off all of the right response in me.

Of course, I knew that she was doing that and also knew that she was a ninja and for her to know that I knew her employment.

Because ninjas.

Did Hiruzen send her after me?

… No, I wasn’t sure if the old man had it in him, especially someone like Anko, who by my reckoning, was still recovering from the mental and physical damage inflicted upon her by Orochimaru.

“So … Anko,” I grinned. “Do you want to join me by my side?”

“Gladly!” she giggled as she slid right into my side.

The other girls who were already here glared at her, but none of them spoke up.

At first.

“Mizukage-sama, are you sure you want the abandoned student of Orochimaru?”

There we go.

I didn’t say anything, because I wanted to see how this turns out.

Anko merely smiled. “Ara?”

‘Ara?’

“Aren’t you Daiyani Fumiko? The cloth merchant’s daughter?”

“I-I am-”

“It must be horrible having to be your father’s daughter. He does have so many mistresses… How do you handle all of your bastard siblings?”

“...Eh?”

Anko’s smile became frigid while Fumiko looked shocked.

“You must have to spend a lot of time taking care of children. Is that why you’re here?”

I could feel the burn. It was some intense stuff.

“Oh, right. I forgot. Your father is cheating in your mother, and spends most of his money on his mistresses and his bastards. I’m sorry. Is it a shock to learn about it in public?”

At this point, the other girl was in tears but there was still a flicker of defiance. “At least I have a father.”

Oh, shit, was she going there?

“Better a dead father than a cheating deadbeat who’s trying to whore his daughter out.”

The girl ran away in tears, and I kind felt pity.

But then again, she started it and couldn’t take her fair share.

“So your tongue is as sharp as your kunai, isn’t it, kunoichi-san?”

She giggled.

“There’s a reason civilians shouldn’t mess with ninjas. We get all kinds of training.”

I chuckled. “You certainly do,” I agreed.

“‘You’?” she asked me with a raised eyebrow. “Did you also not receive such training?”

“Nah,” I waved her off. “I was a priest up until two months ago.”

She blinked. “Really?” she asked me before glancing around. “I hope this isn’t a sign of your corruption…”

“On the contrary!” I huffed. “The Temple of Aphrodite encourages it followers to make love and be happy! We do not merely mean sex when we say love, but that you truly find love in your partner. Or partners, if that’s what you like.”

“Huh,” she uttered. “That’s… not quite what I expected. Wait, then, how did a priest like you become the mizukage?” she asked in confusion.

“Well, when I set up my temple in Kirigakure, I saw a people downtrodden from the horrors of the Bloody Mist!” I exaggerated. “I took in those who had nowhere else to go. Who were tired. Who were disgusted with war. But that wasn’t all, I defended them when the Yondaime Mizukage attempted to slay them all on a flimsy pretext!”

“You mean to tell me that you, a mere priest, beat a kage?”

I grinned. I knew she was fishing for information, but I didn’t care because none of it really mattered.

“Watch.”

I opened my palm and -.

A small dragon, a far eastern wingless dragon, uncurled as it came to life.

She stared at it. “That is … certainly a life-like illusion,” she muttered as she began to inspect it.

“What illusion?” I asked her with a coy smile as the dragon shook itself awake and looked at her.

Other girls leaned in to see the dragon, and cooed at it.

It was cute.

When a few of the girls reached out, the baby dragon brushed up against their fingers and crooned, which only made the girls fall in love with the little guy. Or gal. Hmm, what gender was it? I created it on a whim, but I didn’t really think about gender when I did.

“... Kai.”

I felt a minor disruption of chakra burst forth from Anko, but nothing happened to the dragon because there was no illusion to break.

Her eyes widened.

“What illusion?” I asked her.

She paled as she met eyes with me, and I just gave her a wrinkled-eye smile.

“I am … slightly more enlightened than you and all others around us,” I hummed as I gently pushed the hands away and cupped the dragon until it disappeared within my two hands. I then released the hands, revealing nothing within. “My enlightenment has shown me that for those with power, the very fabric of reality is an illusion.”

I created a replica of Anko right next to me, who winked at Anko herself before disappearing.

“All of it.”

“... Ha!” she barked out a very unlady-like laughter. “I wish my former teacher was here! Oh, how much you would make him mad by saying all of that!” she giggled.

Well then, I supposed that she was a bit more hardy in the heart than I imagined her to be. I did just tell her that nothing mattered in a roundabout way, and she wasn’t dumb enough to not get the hint, and yet she just laughed it off.

“Would you like to join me in my parlor tonight?” I asked her while extending a hand. The ladies around us made scandalized noises.

“Gladly,” she giggled again as she took my hand and rose up with me.

Welp, I don't think he would kill a sentient thing. So there is now a duplicate of Anko running around loyal to the mizukage ("who winked at Anko herself before disappearing", note it didn't say anything about destroying the copy). And maybe willing to make out with her sister Anko. Someone is going to have a security fit when they realize this. I don't think this goddess would allow him to do wipe out a person with her power. At worse, there is likely a tiny dragon and Anko clone in Mist now (if Mei is asleep in his bed, she may wake up to find a version of Anko cuddling her and a tiny dragon sleeping somewhere in the apartment).
