The Expedition 33 camp simmered in uneasy quiet, the mountain pines creaking under a sickly-green moon. Maelle toyed with her dagger, bored, tense, until a snapped twig betrayed the intruder.

Fantastic. A thief, half-starved, frozen in her fiery gaze.

She lunged, slamming him against a ruined shrine. One twist of her wrist, and his pulse would paint the moss, until she felt it. The way his breath hitched. Not from fear.

"Pathetic," she lied, her knee pressing between his thighs. "But the Flame needs something to burn tonight."

His moan drowned in the crunch of leaves as she claimed her tribute, not in blood, but heat. Behind them, the Clair Obscur’s glow pulsed, indifferent.

By dawn, only trampled ferns remained.

第33次遠征隊の野営地は、不穏な静寂に包まれていた。病的な緑色の月明かりの下で、山の松がきしむ音を立てていた。マエルは退屈そうに、そして緊張しながら短剣を弄んでいた。折れた小枝が侵入者の正体を暴いた。

素晴らしい。飢えに苦しんでいる泥棒が、彼女の燃えるような視線に凍りついている。

彼女は突進し、廃墟となった祠に彼を叩きつけた。手首をひねるだけで、彼の脈が苔を染め、ついには彼女がそれを感じるまで。息が止まる様子。恐怖からではない。

「情けないわね」彼女は嘘をつき、膝を彼の太ももの間に押し付けた。「でも、炎は今夜、燃えるものが必要なのよ」

彼女が貢物を受け取ると、彼の呻き声は葉の砕ける音にかき消された。血ではなく、熱だった。彼らの背後では、クレア・オブスカーの輝きが無関心に脈打っていた。

夜明けまでに、踏みつけられたシダだけが残りました。

Here we are with today’s post, what to say...

Okay, so I know that Maelle actually has something like grey-green eyes, or sometimes blue eyes depending a lot on the lighting and the setting.
After doing some research, I personally decided that, in a campfire scene, it would look better to show her eyes with a greenish tint rather than a full blue.

I know this kind of thing can be subjective, so I’m really curious to hear if you guys actually enjoyed this choice, or if maybe you would’ve preferred the blue eyes instead.
