Her outfit, crimson silk, clinging gently to her form, shimmered with every nervous breath she took. Not her usual armor, and definitely not her usual confidence.
“Don’t get the wrong idea,” she muttered, cheeks tinged pink. “This… this was just convenient. That’s all.”
He didn’t argue. He just smiled, settling gently onto the edge of the bed. The silence between them wasn’t heavy, it pulsed with something softer, almost fragile.
She glanced over, lips pressed tight… then looked away.
A beat. Then two.
“…You better not say anything stupid,” she whispered, stepping closer.
And though no one spoke again, the distance between them slowly disappeared, not in words, but in everything else that mattered...

「誤解しないで」と彼女は呟き、頬は紅潮した。「これは…ただ都合のいいことだっただけ。それだけよ。」
彼は反論しなかった。ただ微笑み、ベッドの端に優しく腰を下ろした。二人の間の沈黙は重苦しくなく、何かもっと柔らかく、ほとんど脆いような脈動を感じた。
彼女はこちらをちらりと見て、唇をぎゅっと閉じ…そして視線をそらした。
一拍。そして二拍。
「…馬鹿なことを言わないで」と彼女は囁き、一歩近づいた。
そして、誰も二度と口をきかなかったが、二人の間の距離は、言葉ではなく、他の大切なものすべてにおいて、ゆっくりと消えていった...

Today’s post is a bit late, but hey, better late than never, right? Or at least I hope so, lol.
