Only the soft click of the camera broke the stillness, each flash catching the gold shimmer of Lux’s bunny suit as she shifted poses. She wasn’t supposed to be here, Demacia’s Light, now striking poses to fund a future no one had planned for her. The war had taken much. Pride, too, came at a cost.
“Just one more,” the photographer said, though his voice had dipped lower now, hushed, uncertain.
Lux turned slowly, her expression unreadable, but her eyes locked onto his, a spark behind that glinting blue. She held it, longer than necessary.
“You’re blushing,” she said softly, a teasing curl in her voice that hovered between playful and daring.
He faltered, hand still on the shutter.
Another flash, though neither of them flinched.
She stepped forward, each golden heel a quiet punctuation on the polished floor. Close now. Close enough for her perfume to fog his thoughts.
She leaned just slightly, her lips near his ear.
“We should finish…” she murmured, her tone like velvet drawn across skin.
But neither of them moved, not for the camera, not for the job. The room held its breath with them, caught in something unspoken but undeniably real.
Then, softly, without instruction, she reached for his hand and placed it gently against her waist. Her gaze never left his.
“This time,” she whispered, “no more pictures.”
And just like that, the set was forgotten. The story had moved off-camera.
キャスティングルームは静まり返り、床から天井まで白に染まり、殺風景で、まるで聖域のようだった。静寂を破るのはカメラの柔らかなシャッター音だけだった。ラックスがポーズを変えるたびに、フラッシュがバニースーツの金色の輝きを捉えた。デマーシアの光である彼女は、ここにいるはずではなかった。誰も彼女のために考えもしなかった未来のために、今ポーズを取っているのだ。戦争は多くのものを奪った。プライドもまた、代償を伴っていた。
「あと一つだけ」カメラマンは言ったが、声は低く、かすかに、そして不安げに響いていた。
ラックスはゆっくりと振り返った。表情は読み取れなかったが、彼女の瞳は彼の瞳に釘付けになった。その青い輝きの奥に、輝きが宿っていた。彼女は必要以上に長く、その瞳を見つめた。
「顔が赤くなってるわね」と彼女は優しく言った。からかうような、遊び心と大胆さが入り混じったような、くすくすとした声だった。
彼はシャッターに手を置いたまま、ためらった。
もう一度フラッシュが当たったが、二人ともひるむことはなかった。
彼女は前に進み出た。金色のヒールが磨かれた床に静かに句読点を打つように。もっと近づきたい。彼女の香水が彼の思考を曇らせるほどに。
彼女はほんの少し身を乗り出し、唇を彼の耳に近づけた。
「もう終わりにしましょう…」と彼女は呟いた。その声色は、まるでベルベットが肌を滑らせるように響いた。
しかし、二人は動かなかった。カメラのためにも、仕事のためにも。部屋は息を呑み、言葉には出ないが紛れもなく現実の何かに捉えられていた。
それから、何も言われなくても、彼女はそっと彼の手を取り、優しく腰に当てた。視線は彼から決して離さなかった。
「今度は」と彼女は囁いた。「もう写真は撮らないわ。」
そして、あっという間にセットは忘れ去られた。物語はカメラの向こうへと移った。

I’ll keep it short, I’m in a rush because I still need to post the weekly comics and the poll!
