He stepped into the chamber. The floor lit up. The air tightened.
When his hand touched the core on her chest, the reaction was instant, a surge of heat, a pulse of light. Her breath caught, her body shifted closer, almost involuntarily.
The platform pulsed with their rhythm. Monitors spiked. Movements deepened.
She didn’t push him away.
She leaned in.
The sync was complete.
But they didn’t stop.
