DR. BEES update, thoughts and project news!

I'm excited! Today is the first day of returning to work on DR. BEES FOREVER.
As it was started back in 2022, a LOT of work has already been completed for the this short (including all the music!).
My goal is to now stay the course without giving energy to any other projects until we're 100% finished and released.
The DR. BEES style is deliberately limited and "cheap" looking, however, I've increased the number of drawings and original poses in each subsequent DR. BEES outing as my habitual Harry-ness has taken hold...
So for that reason, I will be a little more sparing with the full body frame-by-frame stuff for the rest of the short, to try and get this thing out the door!
As you know, my accuracy with predicted release dates is tragic, so I'll phrase things this way: I think the strength of this cartoon lies in its humour and ideas, not in fancy animation, and I think I can finish this thing quicker than is usual (for me). STAY TUNED!
(or stay "TOONED" if we want to indulge in hilarious animator humour!)
In other "news", I just spent the last week drawing 25+ portraits of French Starbarians comic backers (offered as a higher-cost perk for that campaign). I agreed to do this willingly, but a week spent away from my animation/storytelling projects feels a lot longer. It helped refocus for me, the stark contrast between how much I love creating stories with my own characters, and literally all other kinds of work.
Drawing, for others, for a living, is of course, no bad thing.
Anyone who draws for a living is lucky - but that's why I'm SO thankful that you support me here on Patreon and allow me go further, and create my own original works and stories. Your support keeps me doing this.
Expect updates on DR. BEES FOREVER in the coming week or so. I'll get to work.

2025-06-18 16:45:47 +0000 UTCHarry, the fact that you need to work for a living is not an acceptable excuse. We need to achieve the communist revolution as envisaged by Marx, Engels and Luxemburg. (/s, I'm about as far from a communist as one can get, since my parents grew up in the practical application of their ideas. And I fully understand you have to make money on the side)
