I've seen two kinds of blind dates, the one's that are set up by your friends and the one's that are set up by your parents. Normally the one's that are set up by your friends are the typical "Hey, I know someone you might like, I'll give you their number". And the one's set up by the parents sometimes is something similar as the one's set up by friends, but mostly those blind dates are more focused on specs or the advantages the other side's family will bring to yours with marriage in mind.
