BTS - THE RISE OF BANGTAN - Chapter 4: Reflection | NSD REACTION

Comments

When Jimin said, "I'm an adult now" I don't know if you know about Korean Age. In Korea, when you are born, you are automatically 1 year old because they are counting gestation as a year. Then on January 1, you turn a year older, not on your actual birthdate. In Jimin's case, he was born on October 13, 1995, so on January 4, 2014, his global age would have been 18 years old (then he would turn 19 on October 13, 2014). In Korean Age, Jimin was 1 year old at birth, and on January 1 of every year, he turns a year older, so he would be 20 on January 4, 2014, and the age of consent in South Korea is 20 years old (South Korea's Criminal Act Article 305). Unless it's different now, this is what I found. So Jimin saying he is an adult now makes sense. RM's music - Yes, they started out as a Hip Hop Idol group, but they also experimented with other genre's and sounds. All of their albums have songs that are Hip Hop, and the other songs incorporate their rap/hip hop. I think they evolved with their sound. I don't see that as a negative thing. I do think the English pop songs they came out with to debut in America were an experiment with the genre, and it still included rap in their song BUTTER. But if you listen to their album BE (released November 20,2020), and the songs Dis-ease and Telepathy, those are hard to define as a single genre but have elements of hip hop in them. Created in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, BE was inspired by BTS' perspective of life during the pandemic. The record sees the band members contributing to various aspects of album-making process including songwriting, development, production, and visual design. The album 'BE' is primarily a pop record, encompassing hip hop, EDM, and disco genres with elements of synth-pop, funk and R&B. Their album Map of the Soul: 7 (released February 21, 2020) was even more diverse. Map of the Soul: 7 has been described as a pop, R&B and hip-hop record that contains influences from urban contemporary genres like rock, trap and EDM. Lyrically, it touches upon themes of reflection, introspection, and self-acceptance. I could go on and on about each album, but I wanted to demonstrate that they are not limited to one genre, and that frees them to experiment and grow, which only helps them overall. Their discography is so diverse and they have over 300 songs, many that I'm sure I haven't heard yet. Thank you for your reactions, I'm enjoying them.
