The movies about classism. The rich family was nice because they were rich. And they paid their employees well but only to feel better about themselves and always looked down on them with pretended politeness, but always kept a clear line between them and the ‘help.’ The stink they kept smelling was that of common people. They even role played as poor people to get off too. Meanwhile the poor people are driven to drastic, crazy schemes by their poverty. Even the crazy guy in the basement. He owed to debts to loan sharks (the mob) trying to get a better life and if they found him they would kill him. Living underground probably drove him to true madness. The dad killed the other dad at the end because the whole time he took the abuse because he had too. They were all going to abandone that girl (his daughter) so they could have thier chauffeur driven their own son to the hospital. Even in that crazy moment he couldn’t take the smell and pinched his nose. So the guy snapped and killed him. Parasite is all about not knowing who the actual parasites are; the poor leeching off the rich, or the rich leeching off the poor?

The whole movie was a commentary on the gap in social class in SK. The poor feed off the rich, while the rich think they are being "kind" when in reality they are oblivious and in some instances fetishize the poor (the sex scene WAS important to show this, the woman wearing Jessica's "cheap" panties, the mother asking for drug etc.) The ending massacre was again an instance of the rich only truly caring about themselves. Several people were dying in the rich father's yard but all he cared about were the keys to drive his passed out, but otherwise physically fine son, and noting the stench of the poor on top of it. He was never going to help them. And it comes full circle, it's so difficult for the poor to overcome their circumstances, the poor father ended up in the basement and the son was back where they started in their decrepit apartment with flyers for the same pizza place. Jessica, the one who "looked most comfortable" in that wealthy setting was the one that died; representing their dream that died. I was discussing the movie with a Korean friend of mine and she said that it was genius how they worked in all these aspects that happen every day, to so many people, and the entire way classism and capitalism is still a very real thing in their society.

So excited to watch this reaction. Please watch He Is Psychometric, it's Jinyoungs drama from last year and it was amazing! Also, watch his movie "A stray Goat" AKA "Nunbal"!

This movie to me was amazing I kept thinking about it for days and looking up explanations. This represents or society as a whole. The rich live of the poor while the poor fights each other to keep working for the rich with the illusion of having a better life, but the system is not built to make the poor rich. The poor don’t help each other and are selfish as we saw with the Kims. They getting free fumigation while the pizza boxes got contaminated, making the other workers get fired, etc. The rich are even worshipped in various parts of the movie. They are oblivious to the suffering that happens under their noses, like the lights lighting when Mr. Park passes thinking it was a sensor, the way the air was a goo thing for them because the fine dust was gone and they could have their backyard party and the bubble the lady lived in the whole movie. The former house keeper cuts the CCTV outside of the house so maybe she fell or something and that’s why she was hurt. I think Kevin was going to kill them and that's why he brought the rock with him. It might be just my dark mind. I didn’t fully get why Mr. Kim killed Mr. Park, I understandcrack, butves, but I felt it out of nowhere (apparently for me having no house, your two kids dying and your life ruined wasn’t enough for me). I expected him to crack but not to commit murder. I love moral ambiguous characters, they seem more real.

Sometimes I watch things with you that I haven't seen before and it can get kind of annoying if you pause too much, but I can fast forward. At the end, we are all here to see your reaction and listen to what you have to say so feel free to pause as much as you want. This was fun and enjoyable.

If you have something to say then definitely pause the movie! It makes the video longer but I think it's better to pause and get what you have on your mind out and then you can continue the movie and focus~ Also your little talks or theories are fun lol

To explain the ending a little bit more it's kind of depressing actually. Remember when the father talks to Kevin after the flood about how the best plan is having no plan at all because if you have a plan then things will not work out? Well at the ending Kevin says he has a plan to buy the house and meet his father but based on their talk this tells us that he was never able to afford the house and he never reunited with his dad.

To be honest, this could be my 5th or 6th time watching Parasite but I don't know, it could be more than that and I think it'll be in my list of movies that'll I'll re-watch over and over again, like now and into the future because how well done and thought out of a movie it is, it'll never leave me.

This is my 2nd time watching this. Its really oscar worthy. Korean series and movies are dope if you watch it without prejudice. I love the way you reacted to this, can't wait for Train to Busan. Love your reactions. FYI, Kevin and his friend are BTS V's closest friends. They were in his vacation vlog you reacted to.

I watched the movie at the cinema last year. I went alone cause none of my friends are into Korean Movies... and the 6 people at the cinema who watched it with me were aged between 40-60 so it was kinda awkward!! It felt like they didnt have anything to do, decided to go to the cinema and by chance Parasite was playing. They were also laughing all the time and making racist comments like "thats why we shouldnt hire asian people hahaha".... I was so pissed I really got hooked by the plot and was rooting for the Kim family at the beginning... thinking that the stone was was a Symbol for better days to come/a turning point... but then their greed took over. They wanted more and werent willing to let go even after all the signs given to them. The Fam. Park were off to me... the wife was very nice but had lost all sense of reality und is locked inside her wealthy bubble. The Husband is full of himself, thinks money is the solution to all and looks down open others. What got me the most were the talks about the smell... I just wanted both families to have a realization and a somewhat happy ending (which isnt realistic but I wanted something good to come out of the story). I could talk all day about this movie... there is so much left for interpretation! I hope more people watch it and be open-minded, instead of talking trash

eXoKoLa

never seen it so ill watch it with you lol.
