Wraith WIP 012: Base Stand and Wires
Added 2019-05-05 01:15:42 +0000 UTCThe wires/tubes were really a challenge in terms of thinking how it will come out from the 3D printer. I was tinkering around with it a lot and decided to minimize the amount of wires or tubes seen on the original concept for the ease of 3D printing. I kept all the more prominent tubes and scrapped the finer ones that I felt wouldn't add much more to the final model worth the effort to sculpt and the pain of trying to print something so small and fragile. I will have to do some test prints on the wires alone to confirm that it is practical.
The base stand is connected to her left leg to hold her up in that position. I am hoping it is enough contact to create a sturdy structure.
On a side note I plan all my prints to be in PLA, but it could be interesting to experiment with other materials for certain parts of the model in future projects.
Next thing to do is to break up all the parts to be able to print in pieces.
