Also I'm not sure if I just understood immediately at the beginning of the campaign Rumi's reasoning regarding the recruiting people to believe in him and needing the power of the Gods to bring peace, but it was another instance of me yelling at Charlie and Bizly through my screen that maybe they had misunderstood from the get-go what Rumi was exactly doing. ANYWAYS I still love the banter because it can cause other ideas and topics to surface!!

It's such a big part of how Rumi and Thanatos are different and the actual philosophy and reasoning that each players uses is so wonderful to listen to and think about as well. Sometimes I'll just chime in with my opinion even though I'm literally not part of the conversation.

2022-07-29 02:08:36 +0000 UTCThis is like a copy-paste from a tumblr post I wrote but like: I definitely think Rumi is a good person. I really hate how much this fandom will demonize Rumi. We have a real hero of the people, who fights for the downtrodden and stands up in the face of injustice, and we as a fandom are obsessed with painting him as doing what he does because he’s power-hungry. Can’t a man be altruistic as well as flawed? Can’t a man have the emotional maturity to care about humanity? And just because he has those qualities doesn’t mean he isn’t a perfectionist or at times falls to the temptation to abuse his power and lets out bottled up emotions in unhealthy ways. He is a hero of the people and still has growing to do. Those two qualities can exist simultaneously.
