Coming in for a 2-year “Chip-in” but the Joke Chip made was when they were discussing Jayson’ motivation for coming to the prison. He was supposedly coming to “free him” so Chip butted in with a “Free him from LIFE! Haha” which is so hilariously awkward because A. Horrendous timing and B. Jayson had said that exact line during the original conversation, meaning that Chip had actually just STOLEN the joke!

I was just re-listening to the riptide one shot and when Finn had the flashback in episode 2, there was a boy named Gillian that Finn only slightly recognized but it didn’t seem like he recognized this boy as family. Also when they found Dray in the prison, he flat out denied that Gillian looked anything like Finn and that he didn’t believe they were related. That could just be because he was in the prison for so long and doesn’t have a great memory or something idk. But every time Finn is mentioned I feel like Gillian just acts so sus. This episode, when chip was telling Gillian that they were gonna go find Finn, I could just be reading into it to much but I could have sworn that I heard the tiniest bit of nervousness in Gillian’s voice. I could be completely wrong with this theory but I am so invested in Gillian’s storyline now. I’ve never felt more gaslit by a fictional character in my life.

The only thing it did was emit a mad strong magic aura when our metagaming-prone friend tried to detect magic and suss out the other PCs

LOLL I feel like Chip is kinda looking for a reassuring person, like someone who can say "ya, you're doing it right kiddo"... cause he was very unsure before about if what they were doing was real pirate shit, ya know? AGREED GRIZZLY NIKLAUS WAS FUCKING INCREDIBLE Niklaus I find narrows down your option a lot. Even in conversations, it's like he sets up his whole speech to only give you two options, and one of them is what he wants. There always seems to be no way out of the scenario without dying or doing what he wants.... that's some incredible character work to me. Wow I sure am looking forward to the next episode with everyone's EXECUTION! I think that what could've been with the Stick of Stickiness TM would've been very cool, and it is wise and smart to ask Jocat what to do about it LOL! But... The stick could be used in a different way. What if Niklaus finds the stick in recognizes it as something chip left behind? He could take this in any way, but I originally thought what if he thinks chip left him a gift in good will? Not that Niklaus is one to take bribes, but if he was and this was a very powerful magical object, it could do some good for the crew in future.
