According to the actress that played Caprina 6 snapping the baby’s neck was a mercy kill because she knew the holocaust was coming. IMO it was something else she wore around her neck like an anchor. She seemed to be the only Cylon that showed any lasting remorse.

There are a lot of 6's, but technically, there is only one Caprica 6. The one who seduced Baltar, became a hero of the Cylons, and is now with Colonel Tigh. She was resurrected a couple of times, but maintains the same persona. Same thing with the 8's. There are multiple copies of 8's, but only one Boomer.
