Funny seeing the Six in Baltar's head talking to him about the baby with the real Six he fell in love with in the same shot, as if they're not the same person or connected at all... As for the sacrifice of Pegasus, well the real-world reason is they simply couldn't afford to keep both battlestar sets up and running, and since the show is called Battlestar Galactica, well, Pegasus had to go. This also gives the added bonus of making the escape from New Caprica a really costly affair. Pegasus is a HUGE loss; yes they got away from New Caprica, but it cost them dearly, in lives, in resources, and in the case of many like Kara and Col. Tigh, their spirit.
