Hmmm. I don’t want to spoil it if you’re going to do rewatch and you could figure it out yourself but the polar bears are explained plenty …let me scroll down in case you don’t want to read it. . . . . . . . S P O I L E R For R E W A T C H ? ? ? you kinda have a few episodes where you get the polar bears purpose…first the cages and all the talk about the bears. So we can gather that polar bears were kept in those cages at some point during Dharma initiative days. Then Charlotte finds a polar bear skeleton in the Sahara desert and a large collar with dharma initiative logo on it when we first meet her. And if you will recall that is the place island spits people out when they turn the wheel. So we can kind of guess that the polar bears were once used to turn the wheel. I think there are some other extra features with polar bear content but now I can’t remember. And whether or not Walt sort of draws them out of the jungle because of his powers who knows…could be.
