Anyone else find Daryl’s response to Negan asking to speak to him a bit of backstep? Darryl and Negan seemed to be on better terms at the end of season 10. I know Maggie is an OG, but she missed the group’s most dangerous enemy so far. Regarding Darryl, he knows Negan saved Judith, and by extension Dog, protected Lydia and at Carol’s request, infiltrated the Whisperers and killed Alpha. I don’t expect them to be buddies, but Darryl seemed more tolerant of Negan in season 10. I know it’s complicated but in this situation Negan is clearly there to help despite knowing he’s hated. Also, everything he spoke about,(except the Glenn remark,) was in the groups best interest. No one even helped Negan with the walker that he saved the kid from. Even the ending — while hyped up for dramatic reasons, Negan did EXACTLY what Maggie would have done if roles were reversed. It should also be noted that NONE of Maggie’s team stayed around to help her or allowed her to go up ahead of them. If everyone is on a mission together, everyone should have everyone else’s backs — even if you hate them. The personal issues are for when they are safe. I’m siding with Negan on this whole situation.
