【全体公開】ZetC_OCの設定：名前の由来編①

こんにちは、ZetCです。

前回の記事でSkebの制作を予告していましたが、進めていたところを没にして振り出しに戻っていたところです。完成したら没案も公開しようとは思いますがもう暫くお待ちください。締切には間に合う見込みは立っていますのでご安心を。

I had announced the production of Skeb in my last article, but I was just back to square one when I had to redraw the picture.I will publish the lost plan when it is completed, but please wait a while longer.Please be assured that we are on track to meet the deadline.

今月中に出せる成果物が無さそうなのでちょっとした記事でお茶を濁します。

Since there seems to be no deliverables that we can produce in November, I'll just leave you with a text article.

ZetC_OCの名前の由来 / Origin of the name

実は私は名付けに結構こだわりがあって、現実に有りそうで無い絶妙なラインを狙っています。絶対あり得ないだろうという突飛な名前ではなく、ありふれた普通すぎる名前でもなく、それでいて複雑すぎずキャラの雰囲気や属性と一致する納得感を備えた名前を考えています。

I am actually quite particular about my naming style, and I try to find the perfect line that does not seem to exist in reality.

I try to come up with names that are not outlandish or too common, but not too complicated, and that are consistent with the character's atmosphere and attributes.

紅野恋町 / Benino Komachi

世界三大美女と三原色の名前に由来しています。

「小野小町」＋「赤」です。

名前の響きが可愛らしく、それでいて他にあまり被りがないユニークさがある気がしてお気に入りの名前です。

口紅がテーマのキャラでもあるので「紅」という要素が入っています。

全然描いてないけど、実は設定上は主人公ポジションなんです。

It is derived from the names of the world's three most beautiful women and three primary colors.

“Onono Komachi（小野小町）" + "red”.

It is my favorite name because I feel that it has a cute sound to it, yet is unique enough to not wear much else.

The character is also lipstick-themed, so it has the "Beni（紅）" element.

I haven't drawn it at all, but it is actually the main character position in the setting.

波留薄花 / Namito Usuka

恋町の相方的なキャラであり、名前も同じ由来です。

「クレオパトラ」＋「青」

漢字でしか伝わらないですが、「波留」がクレオパトラの「パト」と読み替えることができます。

日本の伝統色の中に「薄花色（うすはないろ）」というものがあり、そこから取りました。名前が綺麗で私が一番好きな色です。

しっくりくる語感が決まるまで名付けに1年以上悩みました。

She is Komachi's counterpart character and her name comes from the same source.

"Cleopatra" + "blue."

It can only be conveyed in kanji, but "波留" can be read as "patra" in “Cleopatra”.

I took it from one of the traditional Japanese colors called "Usuhana-iro（薄花色）".The name is beautiful and my favorite color.

It took me quite a long time to find the right name for it.

上記の2つと同じ命名方式で「楊貴妃」＋「緑」の組み合わせで「織部楊子（おりべようこ）」という名前がアイデアだけ存在していますが、他が何１つ決まっていないので登場していません。

Only the idea of the name "Oribe Youko (織部楊子)” exists, using the same naming scheme as the above two, with the combination of "Yang gui fei（楊貴妃）" + "green," but none of the others have appeared because none of them have been decided.

笹浪帆奈 / Sasanami Hanna

名前は単純に「般若」をもじっただけです。こういうところは変に捻らず直感で決めがち。姓の方はちょっと特殊な付け方です。

帆奈はヤクザではなく一般人で刺青は彼女の趣味ですが、それ対して理解のある環境として漁師の娘というバックボーンがあります。

北海道に「笹浪家」という古い漁師家系があり、私の遠めの親戚にも笹浪姓がいたのでその繋がりでつけました。

Her name is simply a play on the word "Hannya（般若）”.I tend to decide on these points by intuition, without twisting things around.

The last name is a bit special.

Hanna is not a yakuza, but an ordinary person, and tattooing is her hobby, but she has an understanding background as the daughter of a fisherman.

There is an old fishing family in Hokkaido called the Sasanami family, and I have a distant relative with the surname Sasanami.

ちなみに、ZetC_OCの世界は「東京に人が住めなくなって北海道に首都が移動した日本」が舞台になっている設定だったりします。

Incidentally, the world of ZetC_OC is set in a "Japan where the capital has moved to Hokkaido because people can no longer live in Tokyo".

全員分書くと翻訳と合わせて長ったらしくなってしまいそうなので何回かに分けて投稿しようと思います。

こういうネタが密かに書き溜めてあるのでそういうのを公開する場として、絵の息抜きも兼ねてやっていきます。
