2025-09-30 12:00:42 +0000 UTCyeah exactly my thought. I figured that's why the producer cut it but I'm seeing so many shows that went on for decades and I just know this could have been like that. like I bet they think bloody game is done with s3 but I'd still be so down for a 4th season.

2025-09-30 12:00:14 +0000 UTCThe reason GF became the final season is not because it failed(it gained the most views out of all seasons. Each season of Genius gained more views than the previous) but because the show producer JJY felt The Genius 'peaked' and showed everything there is to be shown throughout 1~4 and thought further seasons wouldn't be able to top what's been done in the same format. That's why diverted and tried different formats like Society Game. In his interview he said it's best to quit at peak rather than quitting with heavy criticism. If you ask me, the worst decision ever :( Look at Survivors and Big Brothers going strong for decades. There are always higher peaks and small improvements that can be made to the format. People weren't getting tired of it. They wanted more but the producer just moved on. I think this is one of those 'sentimental' decisions rather than a rational one. There are always higher levels/more unexpected outcomes/plays to be found. It was a premature decision to cap it thinking it peaked when the show was getting better with every season.
