November Reading Excerpt; "Everything for Everyone"
Added 2024-12-03 02:30:48 +0000 UTCNow that the logjam of the Archive Highlight is clear, I can finally bring you a piece of a book that definitely gripped me and held my attention; this month I read Everything for Everyone: An Oral History of the New York Commune, 2052-2072 by Eman Abdelhadi and M. E. O'Brien.
My thoughts on this one are complicated, and still forming - if you're down for wading into the tricky waters of near-future sci-fi, come listen with me.
Otherwise, if you want a vibe-check on the tone of this recording, this song has been playing on a loop for me, and seems to catch it nicely.

Definitely eerie - it's been a pretty constant source of conversation this week as I toured up and down the East Coast! Remarkable hearing similar conversations repeated among big city artists and at small-town diners in central Massachusetts.
