Trans-Am Kent 1967 - Lotus Cortina #93

For the TCL Cortina, obviously ;)

The ever versatile Lotus Cortina MK1 saw action for most of the 60's, all over the world. A very successful collaboration between Ford and Lotus, from which the resulting car is still very much loved to this day.

Besides dominating 1.6L touring car racing, the little Cortina also saw action in the U2L class in the American Trans-Am series. Robert Winkelmann was an early adapter of the Cortina in this series. Winkelmann was tied to CJ Motors, a Ford dealer in Berkeley, California, who bought and shipped over one Lotus Cortina for local and national competitions. The Lotus they were sent seemed to be an ex works car, though this wasn't fully confirmed.

Their Cortina won the National B Sedan class in the SCCA, upon which the racing team expanded to two Cortina's and, "for the fun of it" a 1300cc Ford Anglia, all repainted in green/gold liveries.
