John Ewer was among the more prominent amateur/semi pro racing drivers in the UK club racing scene, spanning over a decade of racing only in the UK. He had his best years running this orange/blue Mustang in the BSCC by 1968, entering it in smaller, non championship events the year prior. Sadly, I can't find much about mr. Ewer, aside from his biggest win; the 1968 Snetterton 500km.
