The McLaren-Elva M1B 30/08 was somewhat of a Swedish hero, having been raced by Picko Troberg to a handful of exciting Group 6/7 races. Painted in it's bright McDonalds like colours after Troberg bought it from David Prophet in 1967, Troberg would be the first to give chassis 30/08 an outright win in April that year at the Knustorp Ring sportscar meeting.
Troberg wouldn't race the car for long however, after many DNF's he decided to sell the car to Sven-Olof Gunnarsson, alias "Esso" with a broken transmission. After pulling an all-nighter, "Esso" was able to completely rebuild the transmission and entered it in the Swedish National series race at Falkenberg, open for sportscars and prototypes. Here he finished in 2nd place, behind the Lola T70 MK3 GT of Yngve Rosqvist. After a handful of races elsewhere in Europe with Gunnarsson, the car was formally retired from competition, but stayed with the Swedish driver until 2003. Gunnarsson sold the car that year, shortly before his passing on November 12th at the age of 68.
Chassis 30/08 is fully restored and active in various historic racing meetings in this colour scheme in the present day.
Note: this is a mod conversion by Legion, which I've had for many years on my HDD. I'm not sure how up to date it is, but the mapping is quite mediocre with warpings on the rear side panels. Hopefully it's not a big issue for you all.
