EXTENDED | Firearms Expert Reacts to Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater’s’ Guns | EXP

It's Friday, and Jonathan's been Delta bad hand...

In our longest episode to date, Jonathan is dragged back into the world of Metal Gear Solid, to look at the weapons of Delta: Snake Eater, and get to the bottom of that gun jam, once and for all.

Don't forget, as an Extended Episode patron you get an extra long episode with a bunch of extra content, a week earlier than the main feed, and it's ad-free.

Jonathan Ferguson, an expert in firearms history and the Keeper of Firearms & Artillery at the Royal Armouries Museum in the UK, is sent kicking and screaming back to Tselinoyarsk to round up any and all weapons he missed from the original and right some wrongs along the way. Look forward to Stoner 63 screams, one of the best gaming AKs of all time, and probably the most in-depth breakdown of a gun jam that’s ever been committed to video.

It’s a shame i wasn’t with you when you were recording, as a self-proclaimed expert on metal gear I could’ve explained a lot to you.

Something I need to clarify, the jam was meant to be a stovepipe… it was just shown wrong. They kept it that way for the remaster because of how iconic the scene is. Also, he did not do any of that deliberately. It’s just implied to be bad luck.

Peace Walker next? lol

One thing to keep in mind was that during the Virtuous Mission (Act 1), Ocelot was expecting to meet up with The Boss while he was heading to secure Sokolov from the KGB. He was not expecting Snake, and as soon as he realized that this American soldier was not The Boss, did actually try to kill him. It’s only afterwards during Operation Snake Eater that he pretends to try and kill Snake.

What an all timer of an episode!
