It doesn’t surprise me that this cult leader guy encourages the option that leaves all women sexually available to him but also allows people to partake in group sex without seeing themselves as gay

2025-06-24 17:35:21 +0000 UTCI respect Olivia a lot as a songwriter and artist and I love her songs, but I will say something mildly critical about her: when I listen to “Deja vu” (fantastic song), I can clearly hear the she took a melodic phrase from “Cruel Summer.” It’s not “just a chord progression” or “just yelling in the chorus.” I hear a complete melodic phrase that’s nearly identical to part of “Cruel Summer.” Most likely no one would have noticed that at all, but then Olivia went and specifically talked about it in an interview (which is so bizarre! Why would she admit to that?) So it would be delusional of Olivia to be shocked when Taylor asked for songwriting credits. Olivia has been in show business for a while, coming from Disney. It’s not like this is the first time she’s heard about the concept of mechanical royalties or intellectual property. Yes, Olivia is a young songwriter, but she had been singing and releasing music for a while already. Anyway, it’s just business and it’s not a good reason for anyone to have a messy, protracted, dramatic feud. I really wish they would both get over it. Again, Olivia and Taylor are both fantastic, I’m not dissing either of them
