First, I love this pod! Second, as a Selena fan that follows this shit quite closely, I don't think benny and Justin were close friends. They did a few hangouts around lonely promo (benny put the song on his album). But I agree he is the reason jb is crashing out and I think it's cos he knows benny's a good, talented, funny guy who's a big player in the industry, and probably has heard through mutuals that they're really in love. He didn't work on himself like Selena did, he just rushed into marriage, so now he has to deal with his heartbreak.

2025-04-09 15:46:22 +0000 UTCThe thing that rubs me the wrong way about their relationship is that Benny was very close with Justin….like I just can’t imagine marrying one of my ex bfs close friends. BUT Selena seems very happy and at peace with him, so I wish them the best. Can we talk about Selena’s voice though and lack of emotion? I’m guessing alot of work done and being heavily medicated (for her mental health condition). It’s also ALOT for a partner to be with someone with serious mental and physical health issues, so I think it’s great he supports her and seems like he is willing to take care of her through the good & bad. (Ie…Joe’s mental health issues took too much of a toll on Taylor among other things.) Time will tell though.
