i mean we are the normal gaylors. the gaylor points I make are giving a voice to the normal gaylors. stuff like "oh lol that was kinda a gay outfit" or "ooo maybe I look in people's windows is about dianna" or "taylor's obviously been with men but that doesn't mean she's not bi!" that's all the "normal gaylor talking points" and they all make it into the show. but as for the extremist points I am just obsessed with fandom meta those are some of the earliest conversations we've had far back on the pod our fandom meta tag on here is HUGE. it is just a pet interest of mine and I'm similarly interested in cults and religion and conspiracy theory meta as well. but point taken that perhaps it should just be sequestered to specified episodes and I should make a point to have plenty of content that doesn't comment on that side of the fandom because like who cares THAT much right. it's a fair point. so I do hear you. i will try and make specific episodes for fandom meta that people can skip if they're over hearing about it and have plenty of eps that don't touch on it. the only other thing I would say is that I think the majority of gaylors these days DO buy into the more extremist theories. performance artlor is huge right now I just saw a video essay on it! i agree that the people saying she has a baby with karlie are in the fringe of the fandom but people who are into some of these pretty vast and complicated performance art theories are numerous in the fandom!

2025-03-23 20:59:32 +0000 UTCmy only critique is that i feel when you speak about gaylors it’s focusing on the extreme version of gaylors. you make a point to say “oh i’m not like them” and try as much as you can to separate yourself. i think it would be more interesting to bring up with more normal gaylors are saying bc i think most of us already agree the extremists are weird. i don’t think it needs to be talked about for 30 minutes. just my opinion though i still listen bc i enjoy your podcast :)
