2024-04-11 19:29:52 +0000 UTCJust some examples for what I mean: I constantly see online "we don't know how they built the pyramids though!". We actually have a very clear idea of how, we know how they measured each stone, we know the early pulley systems they used, and what strong animals they had to pull heavy loads. We know they worked humans to death without qualm in the endeavor. How did ancients line up monuments with the heavens? The ancient humans who did that weren't physiologically that different from us. They were observant and clever too, and they noticed the patterns in the sky. If we had nothing else to do, no phones or books or anything at all, we'd notice too. It's not so hard, once you see the pattern, to place pyramids in line with stars. Or to erect stone pillars in line with the sun on the longest day of the year... humans did things like that on every continent. So yeah, all I ask is that for every theory you explore, you make sure you explore the science behind the opposition too. Because sometimes it's so strong it makes a "theory" silly, and other times there's really nothing to debunk an idea at all

2024-04-10 19:16:01 +0000 UTCAs a loving follower and also STEM major, if were gonna do a summer of sci-fi, I ask that there is a fact check/debunk section for every theory😭 so often there's a very reasonable explanation by science for a certain phenomenon, but people don't know that because our education system doesn't really focus on the sciences that hard in grade school.

Yes, when I was in middle school, 11-14, in 2010-2013, my friends and I were starting to make sexual jokes, and listen to adult music and watch more adult things. Yes, we were all laughing about Lil Wayne's "skeet skeet skeet, watergun", my friend even got a referral because a teacher heard her singing it and was young enough in our small southern town to know the slang... and that's that. In that situation, THE ADULT who knew better heard a kid say something inappropriate and intervened. Put a stop to it. Meanwhile, Dan was encouraging children to make vulgar, adult jokes. It's wildly inappropriate and I don't care if the demographic was laughing at those things, an adult shouldn't have been feeding us that kind of comedy regardless. It's one thing for 12 year old kids to make inappropriate jokes to each other that they learned thru normal means, Dan having Ariana squeeze on a potato that way wasn't funny to us, it was at best weird and "random" to us.
