2024-02-01 12:53:59 +0000 UTCI hate a lot of the popculturification of violent crime (I say this as someone who has a huge interest in criminology and is going to school for psychology/criminal justice) and a lot of that is due to the black and white thinking of internet culture, and just general lack of real life empathy and understanding. Like i'm sure a lot of these people who have turned against Gypsy really believe they have an understanding of social issues, classism, socioeconomic influences, etc, but still expect someone to come out of prison with the same level of education and maturity that more privileged people have. I've seen people who've called her manipulative, and its like, yes, she probably is a bit, because that was a survival tactic for her. I just really hope the best for her and that she's not too bothered by how people are treating her on the internet. And all that aside, I do really appreciate the open mindedness and sensitivity you two gave while talking about this subject! I'd listen to y'all talk about just about anything so Cam if you end up wanting to do updates on Gypsy I'll be here for it =P

I’m surprised you guys didn’t talk about Taylors stalker but I guess there not much else to say about it And as far as Gypsy in addition to the “perfect victim” people want I think it’s also forgotten prision is supposed to be reform. And Gypsy isn’t perfect but she learned from her mistake and seems to try to advocate for that in every interview

There have already been issues of people’s voices being used to say things they never said, it’s especially a problem in politics. Same goes with their physical likeness being used to do things they never did. I think AI is incredibly dangerous, more than the internet itself ever has been. AI has the power to completely upend how we communicate information, because it can be used to create very convincing false information. I’m terrified of AI, and I feel horrible for all these celebs who have been violated so deeply already
