Arachnophobia poll
Added 2024-09-19 11:34:13 +0000 UTCHey guys! This will be a poll open to all patrons, as I just want to gather opinions on this. Would you like to have a warning in Hooked about spiders, and an option to skip a section containing a spider?
Similarly, say if there were a scene with blood, would you like an option to skip/censor?
Comments
I am aggressively arachnophobic, don't add a skip option.

2024-09-21 23:26:58 +0000 UTCI am not, but I have friends who are and I agree that there should be a warning with an option to remove that particular content.

2024-09-19 22:33:37 +0000 UTCI agree with what others have said. Not during the game, but a pop-up when you start the game and an option to toggle it on/off in the settings would be perfect

2024-09-19 19:00:55 +0000 UTCAs in the MC closes his eyes I mean! I won’t ask the player to close their eyes lol

2024-09-19 18:02:08 +0000 UTCCurrently i have the option to close your eyes before it’s on screen. It’s in character for the MC and you never see the spider or read any descriptions of it if you choose that option

2024-09-19 18:00:30 +0000 UTCI'm arachnaphobic and would massively appreciate a skip button. It can be difficult to even look at photos of a spider :/ I have to mod Skyrim to replace all the spiders even to play it.

2024-09-19 17:58:04 +0000 UTCI think a little pop-up right at the beginning, before the actual game would be fine. Like, you press start, a little text box appears saying that there's a scene later with a pretty realistic spider and/or some blood, player presses a button to allow it or not allow it, and then the game begins.

2024-09-19 15:28:36 +0000 UTCDoesn't bother me, but for the people it really does bother, I'm sure it's important.

2024-09-19 14:07:10 +0000 UTCas Stein42069 said, a setting for warnings would be a good solution

2024-09-19 13:51:12 +0000 UTCI'm not sure I'll have any blood at all! But just in case!
BlenderKnight
2024-09-19 13:27:04 +0000 UTCIt's a good thing in general, but it'd be a little annoying for those unaffected. I'd appreciate it if we could turn the warnings off entirely.

2024-09-19 13:22:07 +0000 UTCI'm in favor of content warnings. As others have mentioned, just depends on how intrusive it is. Honestly a little shocked that so many have voted no. :O

2024-09-19 12:42:47 +0000 UTCim not an arachnophobe, but i will advocate for a setting here. i am very curious about how much blood you expect to show though? do you just mean that one of the girls will accidentally cut themselves on a pizzabox or something?

2024-09-19 12:27:35 +0000 UTCMaybe putting a pop up message in front of everyone like "do you want to see spiders?" would be overkill and a bit intrusive, but making it a toggle in the settings might work.

2024-09-19 12:15:00 +0000 UTCYeah, I think a warning will suffice. Maybe a hidden flamethrower unlockable. 😆

2024-09-19 11:47:01 +0000 UTCNot a jump scare by far! It's mostly just gonna be there until you shoo it away. But aside from a bit of my cartoony style, it's a pretty realistic looking spider, is all.

2024-09-19 11:46:00 +0000 UTCI think at least a warning would be fine. Of course, how bad is it? We getting jumped or is it just kind of.. there? Lol
