Thumbnail design is always a tough one - it's rarely as simple as just "draw a pretty illustration" - we're always thinking about how it will be consumed at the many different sizes thumbnails are seen at, and whether it really looks unique against other people's standard cut-outs. For example, why use the iconic Majin Vegeta smirk if the screenshot from the show has been used a million times in other people's videos; it sort of defeats the purpose of a custom eye-catching thumbnail. You can really see the different thought processes in this timelapse!
