These are my initial thoughts, just based on the title. I agree with Mark. Gohan, since he was a kid, wanted to be a scholar. But he is the son of the main character of the most iconic Shonen manga ever. So with Toriyama making him so strong, and giving him these nice qualities that makes a good Shonen character, it kind of sucks that he is done fighting for most of everything. Yeah, it’s nice that he got to be a scholar, but he only helps fight when it’s “needed” now. So with him being like this now, it feels that the outcome of major fights wouldn’t have changed much if Gohan wasn’t there. Toriyama shouldn’t have written him as a boy who doesn’t like to fight, or to be a scholar.
