Hey Critical Crew!

As you may have gathered from the teaser at the end of "The Death of Magic", next month is none other than our take on Blood Magic! We have a ton of content getting wrapped up currently (anybody needing 22 new spells??), but wanted to share a behind the scenes look at one of my personal favorite pieces of artwork we've done so far

Next month we are introducing you to our Blood Elemental. This congealed construct is conjured from - you guessed it, blood! - and is often seen in the presence of a Blood Hag (more on her to come later!)

This piece was done by artist Senrouk, and as you can see from the sketches above, we tried several different variations of the elemental before landing on the final version. My own favorite aspect of this one was the floating orb that was present in so many of the sketches, and I made sure the artist kept it in the final. (It gave me some major Neon Genesis Evangelion angel vibes)
