NPC Spotlight - Sir Oswald, the Octopus Knight

Sir Oswald is hidden somewhere inside the sunken city of Xoggd'tha after trying to single-handedly (tentacle?) stop the Xothe and Somnids from their evil doings. He presents the adventurers with a small side quest in exchange for recruiting him as an NPC ally, and he quickly became one of our favorite parts of the month!
The idea of an an optional, recruitable NPC was something I always thought would be a cool way to reward a player in the middle of a game (or even to give to a player who normally is not in the spotlight, but you think could really step outside their comfort zone given the opportunity!) As we were writing finale of the adventure, the apocalyptic threat of the Dreamer could quickly become overwhelming for a group of players, so what better way to bolster their actions than with a chivalrous cephalopod?
And the best part is that Sir Oswald's presence in a campaign could have as little or as much involvement as you would like! Sir Oswald could help them out and then part ways, never to be seen again. Or perhaps Sir Oswald later succeeds his father as the King of Tentael, and at a pivotal moment in the campaign, Tentael raises their banners and answers the aid of the adventurers?
