Thank you for a fantastic reaction. This is my favorite James Cameron movie. When I saw it in the theater they had cut out all the stuff that tells you what the Aliens are doing and why they are doing it so this is a much better version since it actually makes sense lol.

2025-07-07 21:21:17 +0000 UTCThe writing was so good on this one, I haven't seen Titanic or Avatar yet but this was just as good as T2 in my opinion, and it did it without Arnold who freakin stole the show in Terminator

2025-06-20 14:00:47 +0000 UTCI consider this to be Cameron's most underrated film. Overshadowed by the bigger blockbusters of Aliens, T2, Titanic, Avatar. But *The Abyss* is so believable with the best group of characters. Great epic movie. It won an Academy Award for Best Special Effects. The special effect of the water tentacle was cutting edge in 1989. And it would be the precursor to the liquid metal effects to come a couple of years later in his T2.
