Yes I have seen them all. I actually saw Genisys first before the rest of them, and I really liked it, so I went back and watched the rest. I've only seen the most recent one once, but I remember really appreciating it for what it was. I'm looking forward to watching it again! - K

I'm with you on this. Nothing about Nick Stahl made me think of the brave, brilliant future leader that John Connor is supposed to be. Especially compared to the performance of Edward Furlong in T2. - K

I definitely agree with Octavia - that it is Sarah Connor who is the beating heart of the series. So without her, I am less invested. Good watch though. Doesn't really feel like the first two movies, but that's okay. I just consider these later movies to be 'what ifs'. The last act of T3 pushed it into the good zone. Kylie - Have you seen all of the further movies already? I did actually really like the most recent 2019 one.

Personally, I think this movie is decent, but nothing special. For me though... the Terminator movies truly succeed as much with Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor, as they do with Arnold. Where John Connor is better as a symbol or idea than as the central character. I thought Claire Danes was great as the next generation Sarah... but I don't think Nick Stahl was memorable as John Connor. He just didn't have the screen presence. Before the 1st Terminator movie came out... James Cameron sold his share of the rights to his then producing partner, and soon to be wife, Gale Anne Hurd, for $1. (She co-wrote & produced T1 with him.) They divorced before T2, but she was still executive producer. She owned 50% of the rights... and the T2 studio, CarolCo, owned the other 50%. CarolCo eventually went bust and was bought out. And eventually Gale Anne Hurd was convinced to sell her half. So different folks were then at the Terminator helm. Originally, James Cameron felt strongly that T1 & T2 were a complete story that ended perfectly there. Later, he was interested in possibly doing a T3... but got too busy with Titanic and such (and the rights had gone elsewhere). I feel like this movie was stuck between a rock and a hard place. Because you have to out-do the previous terminator villain... but then it becomes so ridiculously over-powered. Where it can do anything and everything. Plus, T2 is such a seminal movie... anything would be in a tough spot to follow it. And I think they could've cast a better John Connor. But overall, it still manages to be a decent watch. It's the ending that really saves it. I'd give it a B-. (To T2's A+)
