I really like your theory about Max's consciousness still being with Vecna or the Upside Down, that would make a lot of sense and it would be a really great plot point in my opinion. I think everyone was disappointed with Eddie dying but the only way I see him getting his name cleared is if they would have accused Jason instead of him, but that would have been wrong as well. - K

2025-03-30 13:56:32 +0000 UTCHow dare Jonathan the stoner disparage Steve, near the end there. Steve has been nothing but amazing & the ultimate babysitter since S2. Did Jonathan forget that Steve saved Nancy last season by ramming his car into Billy's before he could smash into Nancy? I don't see how Nancy and Jonathan work at all anymore. But who knows how it will go. Personally, I think Vecna is the controller of all in the Upside Down. The fact that they showed him shaping the mind flayer particles into a spider shape... really indicates that to me. The gang started off thinking that Vecna was the mind flayer's general... but it's the other way around. That El couldn't find Max in her own mind is worrisome. Which is obviously why she's not waking up. She's alive but not in there. My theory, and I never go reading spoilers or anything so just my theory... is that Max's consciousness is somehow still with Vecna or in the Upside Down. I wanted Eddie to survive so much. But there was no clearing his name, I guess. No life to go back to except more running and hiding. So he stepped up. You could tell how much he faulted himself for always running away. And I think that if he had gone back thru with Dustin... what would stop the bats from going thru to our world as well? So he went out a hero. Thank goodness Murray lived. They better not touch any of the remaining hairs on his head. And Sam Owens better be okay and back in S5. Love Paul Reiser. We know the timing had to be balanced with the intercut shots of every group taking down a piece of Vecna. So it just seemed slow for the sake of the visuals. And Steve, Robin, and Nancy were being stealthily methodical so as to not alert Vecna to their presence until they hit him with the first firebomb. I don't think anything could've been done to change the outcome. Well, except Eleven should've kept at One after first throwing him thru the bleachers in Max's memory... just kept at him until he was destroyed... instead of walking over to see Max and letting One climb back for another round. But we know this is plotting because they wanted this set up for S5.
