2025-03-24 12:08:27 +0000 UTCI just thought I would clarify that the men who try to execute Maximus at the beginning of the movie are not his friends. Maximus is a commander of the army and those guys are more like the national guard. They are basically the bodyguards of the emporer. You will notice that they wear purple but Maximus wears red.
