I think you're being quite unfair to Jonathan and Mike here. They both contribute to the plot and help the other characters as much as they both can every season, for example, last season Mike was the one who instantly brought everyone together as soon as he realised the mind flayer was back, and the sauna test was completely his idea, and Jonathan last season was the only person who was calm enough to have a go at cutting out the part of the meat flayer out of Eleven's leg when everyone else was too shocked and freaked out by it. They both have merit to the show.

2025-02-12 02:13:24 +0000 UTCPersonally, I don't mind this greater divide of the younger crowd. Mainly because it separates out 2 of my least favorite characters to California... Mike and Jonathan. I'm just not fond of Mike. And other than being a very good big brother, Jonathan just doesn't contribute much to solving the plots. Also not on board with Jonathan & Nancy. (I do appreciate how wonderful Jonathan is with Will though.) The gang currently left in Hawkins... Nancy, Robin, Steve, Max, Dustin, Lucas, Erica, potentially Eddie... is more my Dream team. In California, I would actually like to see more about Will & El's 'brother/sister' friendship that ought to have developed over the last 6 months. Both seemingly outsiders to the world.
