2025-02-15 14:48:36 +0000 UTCThe roller skate scene also reminded the viewer that El didn't really have a childhood that allowed her to learn to deal with bullies, or how to control her emotions in an environment like that. She tried to be nice, tried to stick up for herself, got pissed off, and finally gave in to her anger. But, I think that was a learning experience for her in the way you described. - K

2025-02-15 14:46:45 +0000 UTCI think the roller skate incident demonstrated really well the instant regret you feel when you let your rage take over for a second. Because you usually do something brash, that doesn't make you feel any better (or makes you feel worse), and also can just make your life more difficult in the end. A great scene with a lot of mixed emotions. I don't think you can teach someone like Angela a lesson. She's a lost cause. And like you said, no one in California is having a good time. Poor Will is always sidelined for more pressing issues. Even I was like "NOT RIGHT NOW WILL" when he was trying to talk to Mike while they were looking for El. Mixed feelings about how he handled everything as well. But in the end, they're all just kids who shouldn't be expected to handle situations like adults.
