In this video, you see the full, uncut, 37-minute video of me finding a reference, taking inspiration, and sketching out this concept. I talk a bit about my thoughts going into it, and how social media actually pushed me (in a good way) to sit down and sketch even when I don't want to.

STEP 1: I start with a very loose sketch just to nail down the overall composition and idea.
STEP 2: Base colour + lines.
STEP 3: Coat texture and BG colour to solidify the mood.
STEP 4: Some rendering on the face, more details to give her more life + shadow.
STEP 5: Adding these flyaway pieces to give her an other-worldliness. Add depth to the composition.
STEP 6: Playing with colour FX like gradients and overlays to mak the colours more dynamic.
STEP 7: Adding a top-down rimlight to ground her more into realism. After this, i flip the canvas for the final.
